caring for Minerelle™ worktops
General Care
General care in preserving the beauty and
functionality of Minerelle™ is as simple as wiping with a
warm damp cloth. Do not leave spills on the surface for too
long. TFK recommends Countertop Magic™ for general cleaning
(see our price list on our
colours page).
Cleaning Stains
Always start by trying the gentlest
method. Avoid harsh chemicals. There are many non-abrasive cleaning
materials on the market which can be used in conjunction
with a sponge, or if stains persist a Scotch Brite pad. Use a
circular motion to remove stains.
Below are just a few that can be used:
Cuts and Scratches
Do not use the Minerelle™ work surface as a cutting board
– the surface can be scratched and will blunt sharp knives.
Use a cutting board or Worktop Saver (300 x 400mm). These
are available at extra cost from us. Minor cuts and scratches can be sanded
lightly with 320 grit sand paper, followed by buffing with a
Scotch Brite pad. For deep scratches please contact us for advice.
Heat
When using gas hobs be careful with overhanging
large pans or woks as the wet heat can be directed back down
onto the surface. Use a worktop saver or trivet to protect
the surface.
Never place hot pans, dishes or heat
producing appliances directly onto the surfaces. Always use
a hot pad or trivet to avoid marking the surface.
Do not place coffee percolators or
constant heat over jointed areas.
Product Warranty
The manufacturer undertakes for a period of
10 years, from the date of purchase to make good by repair
and or replacement at its discretion, any Minerelle™ worktop
products which can be shown to have failed by reason of
defects in manufacture, that is subject to fair wear and
tear, provided the worktop is installed and used in
accordance with the instructions and the products are
properly used for their intended purpose or application.
Proof of purchase and date must accompany any claim under
this guarantee, which is in addition to a consumer’s
statutory right and does not affect those rights in any way.
